A few weeks ago, we were asked to support with a transitional package to trial living at home for a gentleman, who is quadriplegic due to a tragic incident at home.
The last 2 weeks we have been supporting the client to return to his home to be with his wife and family, especially on her 40th birthday.
Throughout this time, the team from Steps Ahead have been working hard alongside the client, his family and a multi-disciplinary team to ensure that we are offering the most effective and person-centred support that we can.
The team have been supporting the client with his rehabilitation and hydrotherapy sessions. They have assisted the client with numerous days out in the community, hosting a birthday party for his wife and a very VIP experience at the strong man competitions where the client previously held the Mr Strong Man title.
The client’s wife told Steps Ahead “This has been so easy and so amazing. You know when you are just waiting for something to go wrong, but it hasn’t. I feel a little bit lazy because the team have been running around doing an amazing job, they’re all lovely and have been fantastic with S”
