As part of Nutrition and Hydration Week, yesterday we celebrated National Swallowing Awareness Day which aims to raise awareness of dysphagia.
Many of our clients now suffer with dysphagia after sustaining their acquired brain injury, which can impact their nutrition and hydration, emotional wellbeing and overall quality of life. We work with some fantastic Speech and Language Therapists (SaLT), who play a key role in managing dysphagia symptoms and improving the quality of our clients lives. The work they do should not only be celebrated today, but everyday!
Here's some photos of Sophie enjoying mocktails at her physio session this week! They made different mocktails with different levels of thickener to aid her swallowing.
